In 1964, the CEO of Alexander's Office Center,
Genevieve (Geva) Alexander, was a High School Teacher in Dublin, Georgia
and literally, in one day, started Alexander's Office Center out of
a "dare". She was told by a Dublin businessman that she couldn't
do it and that if she tried she would surely fail, so the next day Geva
Alexander went to the bank, borrowed $1,500 and the Alexander's Office
Center was born. Geva would take the orders and her 15 year old son,
Paul Alexander, would deliver them on his bicycle after he got out of
school.
Today, Alexander's Office Center is a multi-million
dollar, women-owned, Georgia business located in Dublin and is a single source supplier of office supplies, SHARP, PANASONIC, and LEXMARK copiers, office
furniture including design and installation, office equipment, printing
services and advertising specialties. Alexander's Office Center not
only services a variety of commercial and industrial accounts but also
caters to the government community by supporting GSA and Georgia State
Contracts for several manufacturers and product lines. Some of these
